A sectional garage door is built from separate panels joined by hinges. That design has one big advantage: when one panel is dented, cracked or rusted, it can be taken out and replaced on its own. The rest of the door, the tracks, springs and opener stay exactly where they are.
Many quotes skip that option and price a whole new door, because sourcing a matching panel takes more effort. We do it the other way around. We identify your door’s make, profile and colour, quote the panel replacement first, and only suggest a new door if several panels or the door’s structure are damaged.
The most common cause is a car reversing into the bottom panel. Storms, hail, sports balls, rust along the bottom edge and old age do the rest. Whatever the cause, we also check the tracks, hinges and rollers next to the damage, because an impact that dents a panel can bend the hardware too.

Can a single damaged panel be replaced, or do I need a whole new door?
In most cases, just the panel. Sectional doors are designed so individual panels can be replaced. We only recommend a new door when several panels are damaged, the door’s structure is compromised, or a matching panel is no longer made.
How much does it cost to replace a garage door panel in Sydney?
It depends on the door, the panel’s size and position, and whether the hinges, struts or tracks were also damaged. A single panel is usually far less than a new door. We inspect, explain the options and give you a written fixed price before anything is ordered.
Will the new panel match my existing door?
We match the panel to your door’s make, rib profile, texture and colour. On older doors where the paint has faded, a new panel can look slightly brighter at first. We will tell you what to expect before we order, and suggest the best placement if a perfect match is not possible.
How long does a panel replacement take?
Once the matching panel is on hand, most replacements are done in a single visit. Some panels have to be ordered to suit your door. In that case we make the door safe in the meantime and book the install as soon as the panel arrives.
Do you provide quotes for insurance claims?
Yes. We give you an itemised written quote with the damage, the parts and the labour listed, which you can pass on to your insurer or their assessor.
